Adromeda are a progressive metal group hailing from Sweden. They are lead by guitar wizard Johan Reinholdz. When the first song "The Words Unspoken" started I knew I was going to be in for a great mix of guitar mastery and instrumental superiority. I also figured I would be in for a vocal performance passion and strength to match the music. I was correct in the first part, but not so on the second. While the music is candy to the ears the vocals are bland. Singer Lawrence Mackrory seems like he is reading the lyrics while he's singing. His range seems very limited and monotonous. The Century Media bio states he was hired just in time for the band to record, so maybe that's why it sounds like it does. The best songs are "Chameleon Carneval" (instrumental) and "Star Shooter Supreme," the one song where I can here some emotion in Mackrory. Andromeda will have to do a lot better if they want to compete with the large number of progressive bands out right now, and musically I believe they have the ability to do so. If this had been and instrumental I would have given it at least a 7, and I'm no fan of instrumentals.
